COLD HARD FACTS ABOUT INCARCERATION

4 LIFE SENTENCES AT AGE 15!! WHAT?????

http://www.theledger.com/article/20101127/EDIT01/11275029/1036?Title=Juvenile-Sentencing-Life-And-A-Dead-Rock-Star

The impact for CHANGE, "must" come from the American people, writing to their state legislators, speaking out about these atrocities against children, I do NOT mean to "coddle" them, but those sentencings are surely a "death sentence", "state sanctioned murder" of a "child", NOT even given a "chance", "offer" to change, rehabiliation, NOTHING, but to die off in prison...BARBARIC...AMERICA WAKE UP, YOUR child COULD BE NEXT!!!

APATHY & PASSIVENESS also contributes to the many deaths of our nation's children. Many never had a "chance" since birth. Far too many are thrown away and forgotten.

Walnut Grove juvenile facility called 'barbaric'

http://www.clarionledger.com/article/20101117/NEWS/11170339/Private-prison-firm-sued

A must read, tho children are incarcerated, they still have a right to be treated as a human being, NOT to coddle them, but abuses of any kind should never happen. Rehabilitative efforts, education to help them become productive members of society. So many "children" never had a "chance" since birth. The emotional trauma alone is devastating, many never get visits, mail, canteens funds, NOTHING. Deaths have already occurred behind bars. Juvenile law reform is so imperative, to help save our nation's children, from doom and deaths.

"In September, the state high court ruled Banyard, who was tried before Circuit Judge Tomie Green, should get a new trial. In throwing out Banyard's conviction and life sentence, the Supreme Court said the jury should have been given instruction on Banyard's claim he was under duress when he shot Ballard. Also, the court said an improper instruction was given to the jury."
