People can change: Juveniles should not receive life sentences

(pic not of this article)

Excerpt.....PLEASE read full article, very interesting and informative

"Up until a few years ago, the fact that minors could receive life sentences did not concern me in the least. As the wife of a law enforcement officer, I had little mercy for offenders of any age, and the mantra “adult time for adult crime” was something my husband and I heartily endorsed.

Our bias against inmates ran deep, and we had no desire to extend any kind of friendship. But over the course of a few years, as this young man continued to write to us, it became evident that he was not at all like what we had imagined. The first indication of that came months after we began writing, when he refused our offer to give him a small amount of money to purchase art supplies............"
My personal thanks to the author for sharing this information. I agree children do change in their growing years, they DO "deserve a chance." Strongly urge our communities to get educated and involved in juvenile law "reform." We must help them to help themselves.
